I would like to have, maybe 4 or 5 hens,on doing some home work, the recomended space varies as square ft per bird, from 2 to 4 Square foot,i presume that is in ref to the floor area, and not total coop,i understand this to be reasonably important,so they not get over hot ext with to smaller space, and to cold having to much,i need to get this right, they will have the use off a nice large pen during the day, what sort of space works for you

This is my coop and run, it says upto 6 hens (but I'd rather stick 4 in there as its on the small side..) I only have 2 polish atm, was going to pick up another 2 on the 14th but collecting has been postponed due to bird flu. Atm they need to be under cover by law, sadly, so I would probably wait until the lockdown has passed to pick up your girls (boy?). I plan on getting this soon and putting it on my lawn at the back, so they can stretch their legs a bit more 2m x 3m Walk In Galvanised Cage - £199.99 | Garden4Less UK Shop
It helps to get a "chicken box" ready with bits like apple cider vinegar, diatomaceous earth, mite/lice spray anti peck spray/powder, purple spray for wounds and a few other bits and bobs, they're not something I use every day but its good to have them on hand just incase.
someone else can help you out on the coop size a bit better than me hopefully! Good luck anywaysAttached Files
