I think it's probably a bit late though no harm in waiting.
Using an incubator is a bit of trial and error...did you always have the temp and humidity in good range? No sunlight on the box? What thermometer were you using?
It's now day 29, not a single one has hatched. The last time I was on here I decided when I got home to double check temperature etc, even though the digital read stated 37.5, I put another thermometer in (at the bottom) and it read 2 degrees less! I'm guessing that's the cause? Have I totally ruined them and got this absolutely wrong, goodness knows if the humidity on the reading is even accurate, feeling like an absolute idiot now....
Should I now break the eggs open and see what stage they got to?
I'm guessing the the 2 degrees difference has ruined them.
What temp reader and humidity reader is best to buy? Totally lost confidence in this now, didn't know it was so difficult to get right
It is easier with a broody but with an incubator boy can start them off at anytime, often much earlier in the season and you can hatch much bigger numbers. Though I've had a few broodies that just walk and give up half way through sitting so either method can have its failures. Incubators just need the temp regulated. I have mine running for 4 or 5 days or so before setting the eggs to ensure the fluctuations in temps are evened out and it's also worth resting the eggs after posting/ travelling before setting
