We sell eggs as suitable for vegetarians in good faith, making sure their feed etc is all suitable. The fact that a chicken eats a few worms, beetles etc has not worried any of my customers and they are well aware that my birds are allowed to free range. What you don't know, you don't worry about is, I think, the answer!

In my ignorance I LOL when I saw this question posted, I feel a bit sick thinking of chooks eating frogs.
I've been trying to persuade OH to keep chooks but he won't budge, and if he sees this thread he definitely won't relent!

Or ducks spent a good 20 minutes one day trying to eat a frog. In the end the Bantams took over and ripped it apart and eat it.

That is so gross! Like someone said earlier - I didn't know chickens ate 'real meat' (in my mind worms and slugs don't count!!) Mind you, we have a perch that lurks at the bottom of our pond, and I've seen him grab a fully grown frog before now and they're similar in size! It must've looked quite funny to anyone watching as I shouted "Leave him alone!" and threw stones in to the water to 'break it up'. The frog did get away - that time...

The easiest way to clean up cat sick! Chicken, then a wipe over with a cloth!

I had a Labrador once that was very fond of eating mixed corn when it got the chance.....very indigestible it appeared.
                        Guess what the hens liked!!!!

BH has been on about getting chooks for a while now. I have always resisted. But reading that they eat cat sick I might relent. What about dog sick because he has his moments as well? BH might stop hounding me about chickens then...
                          Let's go diggin' dirt....

Big silver bird, come land low and slow
Cut your engines, cool your wings,
                          You've taken me home...

I've loooooonged to keep chooks which just isn't practical at the mo - but I've also been looking at the idea through rose tinted specs - and it just goes to show that there is a bit of 'orrible reality in there too!

love the idea of those freshest of eggs, tho'!

Here is proof (sort of) that they will eat mice. Best pic I could get as she was fighting off the others and then she picked it up and ran!
