Just a reminder that livestocks water freezes and they could die of thirst in this weather.
I've just been to the allotment and all of the tap outlets are frozen solid.Luckily I was able to break the ice in the three water buckets in the chooks run and they were able to get a drink. With temperatures forecast to be below zero for the next week or so I will probably need to take water to the plot.
On the way out I noticed another plotholders ducks were skating on the ice on there pond. I managed to poke a metal bar through the ice for them so they could get a drink.
We need to look after our feathered friends this weather!
