ID Please

I�m hoping someone will recognise this so my partners grandad passed away July time and I thought since he loved growing his tomatoes so much to take a couple of seedlings he had grown. It already had a nice tomato growing so thought at least we might get one. When I brought the pot home, I discovered this covered by the tomato plant. I vaguely remember him telling me about it earlier in the year it was a stunning flower and kept it in his greenhouse, but I can�t remember what it�s called. I can�t even remember the flower to be fair but I feel I should be looking after it. So in the chance of frost being able to kill it I�d like to find out what it is so I can properly keep it going. Does anyone recognise this? Any part of the plant?

Looks like an Aspidristra to me, not noted for spectacular flowers though and not frost hardy. If it is don’t water it too much or it will die. Perhaps someone else has another idea.

I see why you say that but the leaves are alot thinner and ever so slightly striped. Also the stem looking thing is flat on the soil like it’s tuber type

Looks a bit like a hosta.

It doesn't look hosta-like to me. Could it be something in the ginger (zingiber) family? Or more likely hedychium (ginger lily) - I knew "ginger" was in there somewhere.

It looks variegated so hedychium Verity might be a possibility?

Looks like Lily of the Valley. I have a bed of it and at the moment without flowers looks just like that.
