  • Yellow Mould

I had brought some potted plants from outside in the last month. Today I noticed that one of them had a yellow mould across the compost surface.

Should I scape it off, repot or ignore?

Without seeing it, I haven't a clue what it is. Scrape it off and put some vermiculite on top, maybe?

What plants are they, are they indoors? I’d pick the yellow bits off & put a clean layer of compost over the top to hide any remains or just pick the bits off, don’t worry composts full of fungi & things rotting down. Water the plants from below if you can to stop the top bit of compost becoming wet (tiny black flies can reproduce in the top bit of compost when it’s wet).

Hi, it is a citrus plant that has a bark mixture in the compost. So my first thought is it is a normal mould that liked the new warmth and had a party. I think removing the affected compost and replacing seems like a sound idea, thanks!

Well, it kind of looks like dog puke (sorry!) and covers most of the pot. I'll get a picture tomorrow in daylight.

M’y guess is that it is a fungus on the bark that is breaking down, scrape it off.
