    New house/new garden! This shrub is quite woody at the base and had white, trumpet-ish shaped flowers (maybe the size of a 50p piece or a bit bigger) with a yellow splodge (not sure how else to describe it!) in the centre in the spring. Flowers looked a little like hollyhocks

    It isn't lemon balm. The leaves have no scent.

    It's grown quickly from when we moved in (late March) when it was only about 30cm round.

    Any ideas?!

    Might be a Cistus (aka rock rose) - there are a number of varieties with different colours.

      Aha! That looks promising!

      I think it may be Cistus salviifolius from the looks of the leaves.

        You're very welcome - lovely plants in the right place, they won't stand too much wet at the roots though.
