I eat the flowers and leaves when I remember! Ate the tubers once but it didn't seem right to eat them when they were next years flowers. They were nothing special anyway.

Just noticed that was an American site. Try this one, it belongs to UK National Collection holders it's enormous!

Have seen dried daylilies in Chinese shops.

Aztecs grew dahlias for the edible tubers. I'll stick to spuds, they're cheaper.

Started taking some cuttings. I had to, the plants I got from Scarlet were looking lonely

And some of these I really want. So if they don't take, I'll have plenty of time to take more.

Talking about eating flowers reminded me of a story about my niece. She was having some friends over for dinner and decided on a Hungarian stew type recipe which called for whole small onions . So she went round to the greengrocers and bought a couple of pounds and everybody really enjoyed the dinner. Unfortunately she woke up in the night feeling sick and realized that the "small onions" had in fact been daffodil bulbs. So she had ring her guests and let them know it would be a good idea to go to A & E for a stomach pump .
