  • Phytosanitary certificate for sending plants

I want to do a plant swap with someone in US, but its been conficated once when posted.

Does anyone know where to apply for phytosanitary certificate for plants? And what is the cost of it? I seem unable to find any relevant info on this, only about exporting timber but not plants.

    Appreciate any help.

    Thank you

Some advice here. Plus, the person receiving the plant will need a permit in the United States.

Are you a trader? Are you talking about large volumes? For a private arrangement involving a small number of plants, I doubt it's viable.

The person in the USA will need to get their own for sending to you.

They are able to obtain permit, they are plant collectors and are really into it.

The fees are in Jays link...minimum of £141.00 to start Inspections are are charged per 15 mins and then £20 per certificate on top etc...it must be a really special plant to want to go down that route.

          What are you sending.

Then you need one to send them seeds, DEFEA would be able to give you more information.

It's hoya and philodendron they want. Rare in USA. But I do not think they will pay that much.

              Thank you for the info.
