Don't worry, I'm not planning on growing our own for February, but would be interested in thoughts of everyone for plants which would be available in February for bouquet, table decs etc for a wedding in the Lake District. The colour theme is a strong purple led by the bridesmaids dresses.

Some of the hellebore hybrids are purple. Not sure if February is a bit early for them?
Phalaenopsis (moth) orchids come in various shades of purple. Indoor plants only though. They are very lovely.Mostly flowers, some fruit and veg, at the seaside in Edinburgh.

Cheers Nicos, we're actually getting married in St Oswald's Church in Grasmere, so depending on the weather the early daffs could be in bloom in the gardens.
Thanks everyone for your thoughts, we're going to talk to a florist soon, I just fancied getting a few ideas in my head first.Last edited by Jimny14; 25-08-2019, 08:17 AM.

I know lots of people hate them in the garden but grape hyacinths a fabulous in little hand ties and look gorgeous on tables.
You can get them in the obvious purple that we see in the garden all the time but also in white and a very pale blue/ purple. They are selling bulbs for despatch now at PN and they are very cheap too. Worth growing a few for fillers alone and they have the bonus of a gorgeous smell.

Never mind the flowers, do we need hats?

Thanks for all the suggestions guys, having met with the florist we've decided to go very simple for bouquet calla lily in ivory and purple - bride with purple, brides maids ivory.
Not decided on tables yet.
This has however given me a thought. My other half's birthday is mid August so I thought I'd get a big pot and do some callas in white and purple for part of her birthday present, has anyone ever done similar? Any recommendations for getting rhizomes and any varieties to look out for?
Edit to correct auto correct of lily name! Blooming phonesLast edited by Jimny14; 04-09-2019, 06:28 PM.
