  • Indoor growing Forget-Me-Nots from seed?

I'm in the terrible position of living in a home that won't let me plant tubs or containers outside () so I can't do what I want to do and plant some flowers for bumblebees. Not even got the right windows for flower boxes!

I would love to grow some Forget-Me-Nots in my home, not only in memory of loved ones that passed away in the past couple of years, but also for their association with Alzheimers and Dementia, a cause close to me. I have a pack of seeds I have bought from Wilkos; what would be the best course of action for indoor growth? Any tips on the right medium for them?

(I get amazing sunlight coverage and have an indoor greenhouse at my disposal!)

I have never tried growing Forget me knots as they are like weeds in my garden so I don't think they will be a problem indoors in pots.
Although they are Spring flowers so it's unlikely they will flower the same year as sowing. You could try a couple of seed now but I would wait until March or even sow in September for flowers the following year.

Oh no, I don't plan to grow until the spring as the sunlight is pretty dull and dark for now because of rain and general bad weather

Well I think they are biennial. Sow the first year and they flower the following year.
Although if you are growing indoors sowing some seed now may give you some flowers a little later in the year? May be worth a try.

There's loads of advice on Goggle and You toobe about growing FMNs in pots. I haven't looked at them though.

So, I planted the seeds in a half-tray and placed in my indoor greenhouse. There's a film on the soil that Iw as wary about, it may be dust ... but I'm overjoyed to say that there are a couple of little shoots poking out!!
