  • Carnations query?

I sowed a packet of carnation seeds (Chabaud Giant Mix) in the spring and although I have healthy looking plants there is no sign of any flowers!
Do they flower the second year and at what time of year?
Do you think keeping some in the greenhouse overwinter will give me some early blooms next year? Can they be grown as a greenhouse plant?
C'mon, you lot! (Why have I just had a vision of Delia Smith??)out of 3500 grapes someone must grow carnations!

Bought some carnations last year, Snadger, and they didn't flower. This year they produced a mass of bloom so perhaps you will just have to wait. They were not the same variety as yours but I have grown them before a long time age and seem to remember that they bloomed in the second year.

Nice to see you back as well Nick
