  • Help!!! Nicotiana seeds

Serves me right, but I sewed Nicotiana Affinis seeds in a seed tray, now I need to prick them out and there are approx 2000 of them Do I have to prick them out individually or can I transplant a few at a time?

Lesson learned, don't sow all at once Was jeannine saying she wanted something to do

Use a plant label or something similar and lift a small clump to put into a pot or cell. I have the same problems with lobelia - the seeds are so small. Consequently I now sow most of my seeds into cell trays. A pinch of seed per cell and it seems to work well. Less thinning and transplanting than with standard seed trays.

I did sow my Lobelia into small cells, my brain obviously wasn't in gear when sowing these though. Will have to plant small clumps as suggested and see what happens. Thanks.

If you take out tiny clumps and put them in modules as Rusty lady says, you should be able to thin them out to 1 per module when they have grown a bit.
