  • First flowers of the season

    Here are the first flowers of this year in my garden.
    They are in one of those wooden wheelbarrow things in a north facing garden it comes back each year this is the 4th year it has grown.

      I think that's a Dicentra Crichmond but it does seem early for it. It's lovely to have early stuff - but had you no snowdrops or daffodils .

        Yes, a lovely dicentra. Apart from bulbs, I've got some amazing flowers on Euphorbias and the earliest flowers were on the hellebores - still going strong.

        Isn't it lovely when the garden starts to flower? Must be spring...

          I don't even have shoots on my dicentra !

          Have beautiful Hepaticas. Must go to my local garden centre... last year they had baby Hepaticas raised from seed and some of them had red blooms !

            Yes it is a dicentra, if I remember rightly it is decentra spectablis.
            My clematis has loads of flower buds on it as well.
