Well another month on 7 they are no bigger - some are smaller cos the deer got them! When do they flower?

Lisianthus are grown in Greenhouses for the cut flower market and they are in flower now. I tried a few plugs a couple of years ago in the garden and they came to nothing. They can be grown from seed in January but they need a constant warm temperature, the seed is very tiny and the pelleted kind is the best, even buying the plugs doesn't ensure a good size plant. When they are grown in the Greenhouses they get to over 1 metre tall and produce some amazing blooms

I saw some in the market last week & they were beautiful. I kept them in the greenhouse after I potted them on from plugs but they just didn`t grow so in the end i planted them out but they haven`t got any bigger. Should I dig them up & plant them in pots & keep them in the greenhouse?

I think they would be better off in the GH, they might not do much this year but they might be in with a chance next. They are definitely not easy flowers to grow

Mine are exactly the same size as a month ago just like PMC's. I don't think I will bother again with them. they are in a lovely warm sunny greenhouse and have not grown a millimetre. rubbish. Bahh

I haven't had much luck with these at all. They are only about 6 ins tall. I have a bud on about three of them but that's it. I'm going to dig them up and overwinter them in the greenhouse and see if they do anything next year.

No I have never tried growing .

I was thinking of buying the seeds to grow them on as they are a beautiful cut flower.

Maybe be better over th ewinter ingreenhouse for added protection.
