I found some tulip bulbs at the back of the cupboard that I bought last autumn but I kind of forgot about them. Would it be ok to plant them out now? It says on the pack plant from August onwards. The bit where I was planning to plant them gets full sun from around 7am to about 3pm each day.

I planted some the middle of January and they are currently flowering on VERY short stems.
Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.
Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

If you've got them, plant them. They have 2 choices - grow or die. They'll only die in the back of your cupboard. All gardeners know better than other gardeners." -- Chinese Proverb.

I did the same thing last week - planted out misc tulips that I have forgotten about, so will see how they take on in couple of weeks I guess.
I have also planted a hyasinth bulb about 3 weeks ago in a pot, and it's actually growing, stem is about 2" tall now.
Will plant out some forgotten daffs tomorrow as well, hopefully they'll be nice pictures in a month time or so :-)
