roses from cuttings?

OH NO!
now I've gone and done it! I was out with my boss today and I some how managed to promise my boss some rose cutting from the ones in my garden!
I have never ever got anything to grow from cuttings, not even willow!

so what do I do? can I have the fisher price version please?

Select strong shoots in late autumn and cut them into 25-30cm (10-12in) lengths, removing any remaining leaves. Dip the base into hormone rooting powder and firm them into a 15-25cm (6-10in) deep trench outdoors, lined on the bottom with sharp sand. The cuttings should have rooted by spring and can be moved the following autumn.

thanks two sheds, I was told willow just push in the ground the right way up but they all went black and died, I'm still not confident but I will try.

Willow roots really easily in a glass of water. Take off the lower leaves first, of course.

get some for peas sticks, push em in on the understanding that they're to come out later in the year and every bl**dy one will root

I was going to leave it in the green house this year and not plant it out,
but the groth on it has been so good, it needed to go somewhere.
I know those of you that know more about it might say I should have kept
it container grown for longer, but couldn't help myself, my first rose

You did right sunnymay, providing it has a reasonable rootball it should do well. Make sure you keep it well watered its first season, but don't mollycoddle it...they are tough as old boots. Which variety is it?
