I bought an hosta last year planted it in a tub in the yard and it grew great lovely leaves and flowers, and the slugs didnt bother it at all.I just let it die off then trimmed it back, didnt know if that was the right thing to do,but it has started to grow again.
The thing is it looks as if their is three growing now in the same tub, can someone tell me if these self seed, their is definitely more than one growing.

    thank you.

Just let it die back, no need to trim it. They do naturally enlarge themselves and can be divided easily to make more plants, just divide up with a spade or old kitchen knife depending on how big /tough it is so you have growing shoots on each section then plant up and water well.

The plant will grow into lovely big clumps so you might want to wait a couple of years before dividing it.

Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!
