  • Sweet peas in hanging baskets

I've got some sweet pea plants left over from planting up in bigger pots and was wondering if I could plant these in a hanging basket?

Yes. By coincidence I have been looking at plants for my empty hanging basket and I have narrowed my shortlist down to Fuchsia's or Sweet Peas.

OK guys, go for it if you want, but if they are standard sweet peas they grow up (or down) to around 6 or 7 feet. Your choice!!

I agree with rustylady. There are sweetpeas that are bred for hanging baskets. Normal ones as she says grow to around 6/7ft and I think you might find they will try to "reach for the sky". You will be for ever watering them and feeding them as they need plent of both and need a deep root run.
