Wildlife Garden Mag - free seeds?

Hi there

I have just purchased the wildlife garden mag and received the free seeds with it, one question for you all, i have mulched my flower beds, if i sow direct will the flowers grow through this or am i best to remove the mulch and sow direct then re-mulch when some are established?

If you put the mulch over the seeds, it's likely to be too deep for them to grow through. Just sprinkle onto the mulch.
To be honest, I've never had that much success with "wild" flowers ... they're surprisingly fussy with their requirements, and the slugs tend to eat a lot of seedlings as they emerge. If you can, sow into cell trays first, then transplant (except Teasel, that has a big taproot - sow direct. It is a huge prickly plant, so take care where you place it).
Also, check your sowing dates ... eg. myosotis is sown end of summer, and Sweet Pea in early spring.

I will move the mulch for now and then when they start to come through, i will move some back over - they may grow, but then again.................
