Planting bulbs at the wrong time of year

I've recently got some bulbs from a garden centre but haven't planted them in time - they are lillies and sea holly. Can I plant them now (although I know I won't get flowers this year) or should I store them and plant them at the right time next year?

What is the best way to store them?

I'd be tempted to stick 'em in. They will catch up to the right season in time. Otherwise there's a danger you'll forget them or they'll dry up.

I moved house Kate and brought some lilies with me. I've planted them and they've come up. I'm not expecting a show from them but I reckon they're safer in the ground than lying in the shed.

Plant them. I didn't get around to planting some spring bulbs until January this year. They still came up, rather late and flowered, just not for as long as normal - think it was too warm for them.

My late daffs are just in flower now!

Plant them - if you try to store them they will just dry out completely and you will have totally wasted your money.

I planted a load in pots and left them in the shed until I was ready to use them earlier this year. Chuffin mice got them though!
