  • Advise needed AGAIN, Sorry!!!

    Hi

At work there was this gorgeous plant, have no idea what it is and was looked after by a member of staff that has now left. It started dying so I moved it to my desk and with some water and tlc its not marvelling in its new spot by my desk. It has these shiny leaves and the stems start off green then turn into a twig, and when it's cut milks.

Anyway I thought I would like to grow another plant from it so took some cutlings and brought it home but dont think its doing very well.

One of the cutlings has this white patch that was once green, the white patch has not grown for awhile but the cutling does not appear to have have got any worse at all. Do you know what it is?

Second Cutling with no white patch

    Forever grateful

    Its a....

    Its a Ficus Benjamina

    Weeping Fig Plant.

The white patch is a scorch mark.

Easy from cuttings, keep out of direct sunlight, mist with rainwater regularly.

Nice variations available at most Garden centres, but it does like a moist atmosphere.

Hello Tru, I think the white patch is where water has been on the leaf then the sun has shone on it and burned it. Otherwise your cutting looks healthy. Good luck with it.

I think they are both going to grow ok. The white patch won't kill the plant. It's just a scorch mark, as Alice says. Yes, a weeping fig. Tried to buy one but the GC person looked at me 'gone home' as they say round here. It grows very large and is a gorgeous glossy plant. Well done.
