oriental poppy problem

I have an oriental poppy which is two year now in a sunny spot, well drained soil, not too rich... apparently a good thing for poppy, but not mine!!
it has grown very well until June but died off completely after flowering
now it seems to have new leaves coming out but they are like burned on one side, not by the sun...I think its a problem that is related to the soil or maybe a virus.
Anyone ??

It will die off. Just collect the flower heads when they turn brown & empty the seeds in to a container.
Sow next year in feb/March on newly tilled soil.
Last year I had a jam jar full of seeds
Plants may not come the same year as sowing as the seeds can remain dormant for a few years.

or just sprinkle some of the seeds on the ground now, and you will get early ones next year, then save the other half for spring, not sure about the brown leaves as mine were only planted in april, so haven't flowered yet.

Mine are at various stages some have flowered & I have collected the seeds some are only just coming into flower & some will flower in a few weeks time!
I have spread seeds in many places just for fun!

Zut ! I didn't save the seeds ! some have just fall off and the wind might have done its job...
I am going to move in September, do you think I can just lift the root ball and cut it in two like you would do with rhubarb?
by the way, the burns are "tip burn" caused by a lack of ...iron I think... my soil being very alkaline it limits the intake of those trace elements that really makes healthy looking plants... Done a lot of research yesterday!!!

Are you sure you have oriental poppies & not Californian poppies.
What colour flowers did you get?
Oriental poppies can be any colour from white, purple, red,or two coloured. (different shades)& are annuals
Californian poppies are orange(& can last more than one season) & the seed heads are long round & tapered.(& turn black)
The leaves of Californian are akin to carrot tops.
