Hey everyone
Not really much point to my story, just wanted to share this with you.
I planted some Californian Poppy seeds back in the summer, but none of them grew at all. Very disappointing. But I noticed that down by the fence, near where I was doing my planting, a poppy plant had grown. One plant in the barren strip of land. The escapee, the survivor.
Over the weeks the number of heads had increased and a nice collection of seed heads grew just waiting to be collected. Was sure what I was doing, but spoke to my mum this weekend, who advised me.
When I got home from visiting mum, I found the gardener had been round and taken the solitary plant away from me. I was shocked. There was still a flower on it, but he had still taken. Just 24 hours before I was going to dry them out in a paper bag and collect the seeds, the whole plant was taken from me.
As I said earlier, not much point, but wanted to share this with you all. I have still got most of the pack of seeds from the summer, so I am not short of them, I just wanted to try to collect them. I want to get into collecting seeds to grow the following year on my allotment.
Oh well, never mind. Always next year.
