Sorry - don't know if this is the norm for magnolias - but someone on here has written about pear trees flowering for a second time this year in Jul/Aug time!
Magnolias can have a second flush of flowers but it's usually earlier in the year. I wonder if it was Magnolia grandiflora you saw, an evergreen magnolia that can flower at anytime during the year (the flowers smell of lemons, they're delish!)
hello, i too have magnolia trees that are in flower, we call it a tulip tree here in the emerald isle, cant remember if it happened before at this time of year, the flowers show in springtime usually
Mine- both in England and France were in flower during August/early September.
Also...so were our mock orange....and few flowers on the apple trees.
Weird weather- clearly signs of global warming...turn off the central heating folks- and put on a sweater/ slippers and bed sox..( tis all the rave now)
Perhaps we should have a sexy underwear competition for the ecologically minded????
