I went to a garden recently which had huge borders of these. They looked wonderful. Has anyone grown them? Are they easy and can anyone give me an idea where I might be able to get seed - they don't seem too common!!!
    Many thanks

We've got them. So easy - you don't do anything and they come back year after year.

They came with the house so not sure about the seed. Will consult and get back to you.

Looks like you can get seeds, but it is better taken from root cuttings or division or buying as already grown plants.

I've got pink ones, flowering beautifully at the moment. They spread easily from bits of root. If you PM me with your name and address I'll send you some.

OOh; ours are white. If they grow that easily, I'll pop some to you as well. Pm me if you want any.

The white one is the one I've always fancied. You can get them in garden centres but they often just sell the pink. They spread really well and you can get rather statuesque clumps. No point in me getting them now, though. Planning to get chickens in Spring so they would no doubt be scratched up before they established!

With you ailsasyl, my list is much larger than my garden will ever be. The pink one was here when we moved in 20 odd years ago, so it's been split all over the place (it still grows up between the blockwork on the drive!), but I'd always wanted a white one, so I was thrilled last week when my son brought me a piece he'd 'tidied' up at work!!

We've got pink (I hate pink) but I would love some white ones.

I'll try and get a few roots then, when they stop flowering [the OH won't let me touch anything whilst it is flowering] for those that are interested.

They are very easy, I have had one in my garden for years, given it by a friend. It comes back every year and is beautiful at the moment. I have been told that they spread like mad but mine hasn't. I just pull up the dead bits when it dies back and it comes back as good as new the following year.
