what to sow now (Autumn)

I want to sow some more hollyhocks in trays (double chocolate black) but have to sit on my hands until we get back from hols.

I also need some more Forget Me Nots & Pennie Blacks as my self-seeders haven't been so good this year... I think I missed the boat.

Violas (I have a black one that I hope to germinate from)
Foxgloves (I have lots of white ones on the way - I weed out the wild purple ones, yuk)
Delphiniums (such an intense blue, gorgeous)
Lupins
Aquilegia (I've got Magpie, a black & white one)
Adenophora
Aconitum
Hollyhock (I get self-sown black ones every year, some of them doubles)
Eryngium
Echinacea (can't grow, won't grow)
Echinops (these have been easy from seed, but the plants aren't growing v.quickly)
Verbascum
Perennial Salvias
Euphorbia
Kniphofia (lollypops. Yuk)
Helenium
Perennial Geranium

What to Sow and Grow in September

Hi,

I would like to add a number of the plants you list above to our garden.

Do all of the above require seeds planted in trays plus greenhouse / incubation?

I have, for instance, lupin and foxglove seeds from existing plants - do I sow them now or in spring?
I also have lots of small (up to 6in high) lupins in pots grown from seed a bit late - can I stick all these in the ground, or do they need to go in a greenhouse over winter because they are too small?
