Brugmansias

I was given a cutting of a Brugmansias. I didnt know what to do but i planted it in a large pot and constantly watered.
To my suprise I now have a plant at least 6" ft tall and now showing some buds. One fairly large bud but theres loads more appearing on the end of each stem.

Thing is I have used some canes to support it mainly due to the winds. But I have looked how to care for it and dont really know whats best. I know the frost will kill it
I have a dark garage, where it can be left to go dormant or I can put it in the shed. They are the only 2 places I can keep it.

I have attatched some pics.
Any advice would be welcome

I've just spent a day huffing and puffing as I've just lugged all mine into the greenhouse. Some still flowering too. It's unheated so I'll be covering mine with fleece. Did this last winter and they all came through.
They are South American plants so obviously not frost hardy at all. Not sure if they need to be kept in the dark? However if they do lose their leaves I was heartened to see one new plant this year, get knocked back by frost and growing tip died, I took it back inside just in case and some of the little green bumps on the stem lower down started swelling and it regrew and is now a healthy 3ft tall.
So to sum up, keep them as warm as poss, water very lightly and wait impatiently for May so they can go back outside and you can reclaim the space for your tomatoes.

Just be a wee bit careful handling it, as it's poisonous.....

You can cut it back quite hard to make a bushy plant and the bits you cut off, bung into water and they will root you will have more
I have about 10 very large plants and every year i cut them back, i tend to cut to where a there is a junction of branches as the more branches you have the more flowers you get
If you can dont keep it in the dark ! is there no one with a greenhouse you could slip it into the corner of over winter ??? they need a long growing season so the more light they get early in the year the better

Thanks everyone for the advice, I didnt know they was poisonous!!

I am thinking of trying to move the furniture and putting in the conservatory ? I havent told hubbie yet lol
