frost bitten plants

I have a plant which has been frost bitten , i didnt manage to bring in out of the cold in time, can a plant recover from being frost bitten or will it of been too late and died???

what type of plant is it? some may recover some wont

I dont know the name of it, i bought it on a trip to heligans gardens this year, it has very small delicate purple heart shapped leaves (stems are purple too) and bright yellow flowers and they all close up at night.

For some plants frost just hastens the dormancy period and the leaves and stems are killed but if you're lucky the part under the soil just goes dormant and will send up shoots in the spring. I'm thinking particularily of dahlias here which are very susceptable to frost!

No idea what your plant is, but if it's a hardy perennial it will probably grow again in the spring.

does it produce lots of stems and flowers on long stalks? kinda like this??

Its similar but has very small leaves. Ive chopped back all the damaged bits and brought the plant into my porch and put a cloche over it ( the porch heats up well but can get cold at night) and im hoping this is enough to revive it, Thanks for all your help.

Why not give the place you bought it from a ring?
Hope it survives- frustrating isn't it?

well if it's similar, mine has corm things at the bottom, which it divides by, i gave one to a friend a few years ago, and hers has lived in the garden ever since, it dies off in winter, and comes back in spring, hopefully yours will recover
