  • Pathetic pinks

Well I can’t understand why nursery bought pinks from last year are failing to flower. Instead they forming pathetically small heads and drying before flowering. Gave them new well drained compost early this Spring.

Shall I just cut them off ? Click image for larger version

Yes on more water. The more you cut the bushier the plant will get so maybe snip a bit of the dead ones off.

        Yes Marb.
I have two pots of pinks from last year and well.
They were so dry I took the whole lot out of the pots and soaked them overnight in a bucket of water.
They are doing a lot better now.

And when your back stops aching,
And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.

Kept them very well watered the last few weeks and still they push up pathetic, dry heads that don't flower.
