Bulbs

I took advantage of the "˜free bulb"™ offering in the magazine, and so now have lots of bulbs to plant, thought I"™d plant in pots and put them on balcony, only have multi purpose compost, will this be ok? I do have some grit I could add? Or should I wait and get potting compost?

I use multi purpose Dorothy and the bulbs don't seem to mind.

If I remember I like to put a small amount of sand for the bulbs to sit on...and yep I too use general purpose compost which over here is peat based ...seems to work OK.

Multipurpose will be fine and adding the grit will make it go further, as well as helping with the drainage
