ID:	2530202 Bought a new cordyline earlier this summer, and the bottom leaves have started to yellow/brown and drop off already.

    Im not really sure what’s up with it. It has decent drainage, I don’t over water. It’s dropped a couple previously which I put down to being a bit too deeply planted, but this seems to be affecting leaves a bit further up.

    the only things I can think;

    - naturally just shedding leaves and building a trunk
    - pot too small - though I have a similar sized one which I planted two years ago, has formed a trunk and seems happy.
    - draininage isn’t as good as I thought.

    any advice apprecited!

    thanks!

    I'd say it's probably just naturally shedding leaves. As long as it is growing more new leaves than it is shedding old ones then it should be nothing to worry about.
    Lack of sufficient nutrient is possibly also a problem. Plants in pots need feeding fairly regularly to maintain healthy growth. Bagged compost generally only contains enough fertiliser to sustain plants for 6-8 weeks.
