  • Chamomile

Last year, I got given a couple of chamomile 'Treneague' in 9cm pots. I planted them in my herb bed and they've done really well, now covering an area over a metre square. It's a low-growing, supposedly non-flowering variety (usually used for chamomile lawns) but, all of a sudden it's started producing flowers. Has anyone else had this happen?

You could make some tea with them?

Yes, this has happened to me. My plant also settled in really well and quickly spread.

I love the smell of the leaves of Treneague. I didn't try and make tea with the flowers though.

The flowers smell lovely too so they might well make a nice tea. I'll give it a try once it's stopped raining.

Rinsing your hair with chamomile tea apparently has health benefits to the scalp.
Its also a very mild hair lightener…..
