Can't see my wife doing this so I must have done it at some point. I bought a Hyacinth last November that flowered and has now one over and dry in its pot. Should I just leave it and water or cut back? Thanks.

Leave it & water a bit or leave out for the rain. Will you plant it in the soil in the spring? They can pick up nutrients & water easier from the ground. If the hyacinth was forced to flower earlier,it would have more chance of flowering the following year if put in the soil. The hyacinths I forced were planted out & the following year they had flowers of half the normal size, they use a lot of energy when forced.

My outdoor hyacinths bloomed every year after being planted out but each year the flowers were smaller- ending up looking like pink bluebells!

Do hyacinths need dryer area to plant into? I've some I want to plant out but not sure where with my soil. I was thinking dryer zones nearer trees.

Ok thanks. I have no room in the garden to plant them so will pot on in compost.
