Well, I can't even keep this seemingly low maintenance plant alive as the leaves have been looking sickly for a little while and the whole top has completely lifted off. There seems to be a fibrous root in the soil (it was in a tin in dry sandy soil) but absolutely no idea why it has keeled over. I have even seen it growing in the middle of a duel carriageway with very little or no soil for goodness sake.

I’m guessing the crown got too wet….rain and not enough breeze/wind to help evaporate any sogginess.
I have this plant in my garden ( growing through a rosemary bush) south facing/ exposed to SW winds.
I’m really starting to realise that a breeze/ wind really makes a difference to growing conditions. Even indoors with seedlings."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple
Location....Normandy France
