I have perennial salvia in a container and it is spreading well, but seems to be quite leggy - lots of leaves on long stems, but only one flower stem. Shall I cut it back to encourage flowers?

If you are giving them a trim Flo, why not nip out their growing tips and see if you can root them. I know it’s a bit early but you may have some success with that as well…."Nicos, Queen of Gooooogle" and... GYO's own Miss Marple

I've been rooting a few different salvias in water over the past couple of weeks. They are all of a similar type to Hot Lips, if you know that one. Amazingly quick to root! Worth trying this with your one Florence, easy as anything.Mostly flowers, some fruit and veg, at the seaside in Edinburgh.
