  • Wallflowers

I sowed some wallflowers, can't remember the name, sometime last year.
Some flowered a little bit this Spring, but the were rather straggly, so I pinched them out.
They have grown on well and look lovely and bushy but there are no signs of any flowers.
Did I confuse them? Are they worth hanging onto or have I missed the flowering boat?
Nestled somewhere in the Cambridgeshire Fens. Good soil, strong winds and 4 Giant Puffballs!

I've never been great with wallflowers but I may try again.
Sorry doesn't help with your question though

Definitely hang on to them, Peanut. They will flower magnificently next year. I have three that I leave in permanently, I clip them back in late summer/autumn when they grow too straggly, sometimes right to the very lowest shoots a couple of inches from the ground. They bloom without fail every spring, each one a big bushy clump by itself.

      Endless wonder.

Thanks Mothhawk, yours sound great. I shall hang onto mine then, with fingers crossed
