I just can't belive how many new plats that come over the thresh of my garden end up moribund. Now reason as they are still in their original pot and compost but countless plants just die. Here are just 5 examples of many with Purple Sage, a mini rose, crysanthams, Phlox and a alpine that has never even flowwered. In fact many of my plants this year failed to flower.

I planted out (into the soil) about thirty ‘foxy’ foxgloves that should flower in the first year but they’re just leaves all summer,I wonder they might flower next year,I might give them some BFB for the winter….
When buying a plant I think you should pot them on into a bigger pot when it’s home,I wouldn’t keep it in the original pot it won’t be able to grow, the roots need to travel further for more growth. Chrysanthemums need about 30cm (12”) between plants.Location : Essex
