Hmmm, maybe I've been too aggressive in my pinching, they don't seem to be doing anything now, they were groiwing pretty fast before, now they aren't! Where does the side shoot appear from?

side shoots should appear from the joint between the stalk and the leaves. It takes a while for them to show.I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!

Thanks Two Sheds. They were on a window ledge at the front (North Facing) and would get plenty of light (or so I thought). Anyway, I've moved them to the back to see if that helps - will I still be able to use these leggy ones then do you reckon ?Last edited by Mike B; 27-01-2009, 06:11 PM.

Hi Mike
Mine are on a north facing ledge too, south facing is best to get the most light (I don't have any room at the back!) though.
I still have hope for mine even though they're a bit leggy, pinched out the tip the other day, leaving one pair of leaves and now they are growing their 1st new sideshoots.
I was hoping that they'll still be ok when they go out, have to wait and see though!
