My understanding is that there are two types - one is 'feral' for want of a better way of putting it and goes beserk a bit like blackberries! The other is more refined but how they grow over here I don't know.
Funny sitting here typing about them I can actually smell the foliage - I fell over into it once and it was a very prickly experience!Comment

No idea if they can be grown from seed SBP as it's something I keep meaning to look out for myself (at least I have a name now). I've seen them in local garden centre as quite established plants so I can't see why not...?Shortie
