  • Is this a rose?

Had a few roses in the garden when I moved in, but they were full of bind weed and everything else a going Anyway dug them all up and was digging over rest of garder later in the year and found this! Is it a rose? I just chucked it in some compost at the time to keep it going, but I forgot about it

    Thanks in advance

Yes! Poor thing, what have you done to it!! Looks like part of the root is not buried, it would probably do better replanted a bit deeper!

That's how I found it! I think it must of broke off one that I dug up and then rooted. Will plant it in the garden in later now I know its a rose, do I need to cut it down abit or anything?

wait a while before you prune it. It's too cold at the moment and frost will damage the cut stems. Plant it up and see if any buds start to develop when the weather warms up. Then cut above any strong buds to encourage new stems to grow prefarably outward facing ones to create a open cup shape to the plant.
above the clouds the sun is shining and the sky is blue. if you look hard enough you can just about see it!
