    Greetings.........

an update on my passion flower seedlings, which are growing great on the windowsills.. a bit of stretch has occurred but still looking really good, the little tendrils are trying to grab hold of anything they can... so i fastened some string to some bamboo and they seem to be liking it

Thanks for that! As the one I cut back isn't showing any new shoots or anything Should have kept it for myself instead of putting it in mother in laws

HELP I have a very decent passion flower seedling about 9 inches high. I moved it today and broke off the top inch!

Will it grow back or have I murdered it????

I've got dozens sprouting up around the garden where the fruits drop off and they seed themselves. They are pretty difficult to kill off. I pot them up and sell them at boot sales in the summer.

I have cut mine back this year and got rid of most of it, some of the stems are quite thick, very hardy and rampant. It is pretty though.

Sigh.... this has made me long for my old garden back in Australia - we had just finished doing it up and moved to the UK so I never got to really enjoy it. But we planted a few passion fruit vines up a trellis fixed against a tall tree stump (couldn't get it out, so decided to put a path around it and use it!). My sister sent me a photo of it, it had gone crazy, covering the stump completely and produced the most amazing crop of passion fruit. (Sob!)

I don't think it would grow in the UK without being in a conservatory or greenhouse, would it? If I had a greenhouse I would definitely give it a go - but that is in my ideal house that would have a massive garden which I could go wild and grow whatever I wanted. Another few years maybe????

the strain i am growing is supposed to be hardy enough for Uk conditions, i think a few people on this forum have them outdoors

you can always grow them in a container

the ones i have grown from seed wont flower in the first season though,, ill have to wait for the second season..
