  • What will grow here?

Any suggestions as to what pot plant can I put outside my cellar window? It will be under clear corrugated plastic so will be shaded but also won't get lots of direct light or water except when I water it although it should be humid down there.

It does that to me now and again. I usually just add a string of full stops!

Fern sounds good to me as well btw!

I've always wanted to get a fern like this

Athyrium Niponicum 'Ursula's Red' - Mirror Garden

But I think Mirrorgarden uses J Parker for their plants, who aint meant to be very good...

I've bought various A.Niponicum strains from the likes of J Parker and none of them ever come true to the pictures in the catalog. A.Nip is a pretty little fern outright tho.

My fave has to be Dryopteris Erythrosora, large, hardy, fab colors and persists into winter in a sheltered spot.

A scented geranium might do okay - depends how humid it gets (they don't mind neglect though ... in fact dryness increases their scent)

A Bleeding Heart Bush? They are woodland plants, so would enjoy the shade and moisture.

Morrisons has 2 for £1! I got some last year but moved them, when they was growing and they died off But saw the other day they are regrowing! Just don't move them when in growth, as they hate it lol
