  • Non-flowering winter jasmine

Hi, I wonder if anyone can advise on this? I planted a small winter-flowering jasmine at the base of a wall (fairly shady area); it flowered during the first winter. I didn't prune it because it's still titchy - the longest stems/shoots are 2-3 ft long - and for the following two winters it hasn't flowered. It does get leaves though.

    Any ideas?

Sorry I can't help. Mine has been in for 4 years and has flowered each year. I don't think the shade is the problem because mine gets virtually no sun at all. It's close to the house in a north-east facing garden, so is shaded most of the year. let alone day. I haven't pruned mine either, except to cut off the self rooted tips of some of the shoots that have arched over and touched the ground. I have 6 rooted cutting now
I could not live without a garden, it is my place to unwind and recover, to marvel at the power of all growing things, even weeds!
    Now a little Shrinking Violet.

OK, thanks. Perhaps I should respect its decision not to flower as a valid lifestyle choice
