Been given a rather large Cordyline ?

I think I have been given a cordyline ? I'm not 100% sure thats what it is to be honest, it has some good roots on, its about 5 foot tall and was wondering if there is anything I should consider before I plant it tomorrow ? Thanks guys and gals

Where did it come from and does it need hardening off?

Hi there.. It was in my sons garden til this afternoon, he's dug it up, bought it over as he says he doesn't want it anymore ? I was very surprised as its a lovely specimen in really good condition.. I just don't want to kill it.I wsn't sure if I need to pot it up 1st or stake it as its so tall ??

You could grow it in a pot or in the garden. Hopefully it has plenty of soil left on the rootball!

Basically dig a hole, add some bone meal and plant it up to the same depth it was planted at!

Give it a good watering as well. You could stake it but if the rootball is big enough it may not need it!

Perfect, thank you so much for such a swift reply.. I can see I'm going to be spending a lot of time on here over the coming months. I have alsorts planned for the garden, putting it all into action may take a little longer.. If I want to ask questions about basket planting and summer flowers (not annuals but the ones that come back every year what's the best section as I put this question in the wrong place
