SMALL CAMELIA FLowers

my friend has 2 camelias,with plenty of buds, but the flowers are very small, and cant be seen from across the garden. There is plenty of green growth past the buds. She's wondering if she cuts off the green. the buds would be more visible? The buds dont seem to open fully, apart from lower down the bush, near the ground. Is ther anything that can encourage the buds to become bigger/open more fully? Thanks

Has she fed her camelias ,just a thought .Also her camelias may not be time to burst in to bloom yet .

will suggest feeding. The flowers just dont seem to open fully, and then go over. normally she can see the colour of the flowers from across the garden, but not this year! maybe the frost got to the buds
