  • What is this please?

Hi my mum has dug this up and given it to me. She says it's a clematis but I am not so sure.

Any guesses? I am wondering where to put it.
    Thanks

Could be a clematis or maybe a honeysuckle?

I thought it looked more like a honeysuckle. I have a few clematis and none of the leaves look like this one.

Remember, like clematis, it doesnt like direct sun on its lower regions.

Thanks I am thinking about where to put it. I always say I'll have the plants she doesn't want then spend ages wondering where to put them then usually end up putting them in th wrong place anyway!

If you have a tree that looks like it will fail (and if you don't mind it failing) honeysuckle will grow 'up' the dying tree quite happily. In the woods near here there is an old dead hollow oak tree, and either the honeysuckle grown up the inside, or it is rooted in a fork about 15ft up. There are several small trees and bushes with honeysuckle sprawled over the whole of the plant. The nature of the plant is to use other, taller plants for support.
Flowers come in too many colours to see the world in black-and-white.
