will they be ok?

My friend dug me up some rudbekia which is about 18 inches high (no flowers yet) and some forget-me-nots (in full flower) this morning as a swap for some tomato and cuke plants.
I stood them in a bucket of water and hopefully will get them in the ground tonight.
Do they need anything else? Should I cut them back after planting? What conditions do they like best?

Forget - me - not is biennial, so it will die after flowering. As a rule, you don't transplant anything while it's flowering.

I'd be surprised if it survived.

Rudbeckia ... if it's a perennial and you have a basal cutting, it should grow away fine.

I have divided the rudbeckia and planted them, and watered them a lot. It is a perrenial she tells me.

The f-m-n have been planted and I am hoping some of the seeds will self seed. My friends garden is full of them and she says she bought a tray of them when she moved in 20 years ago! I know you're not meant to move them in flower but I don't see her very often.. she only dug up the ones from the paths and seeded places.

Just keep them well watered and maybe feed the the one in flower, and it should be ok. I move stuff all the time, its only got 2 choices at the end of the day
