What a FABULOUS display Busyissy. I can only say CONGRATULATIONS. Maybe some of the gardening mags would like to know how it is done. WE would. Tell us more.

Beautiful garden BusyIzzy, what an achievement! Myself, I prefer not to be a slave to the watering can, so I prefer pelargoniums to busy lizzies. Last summer I had loads of calendula (orange, yellow), Limnanthes (yellow, white), Hollyhocks (blackish purple), Penny Black (black and white) and nasturtium (edible). Never watered any of 'em more than twice. They have all self-seeded, and the Limnanthes & Penny Blacks have been flowering all "winter"

                      Thanks!

                      Thankyou for your kind comments

I try to make my bedding display look a bit cottagy but do admit to going a bit over the top

I grow my Geraniums,Fuchsias,Heliotrope,Plectranthus,Marguerites etc. from cuttings, grow some plants from seed and buy plugs of some!

I adore Fuchsias! They give such a good,long-lasting display and there are so many different types to please everybody!
I am always amazed that you can grow a standard with Checkerboard from a cutting taken in February and have it in full flower by the Summer!

Checkerboard is one of the best standards IMHO. Dad also used to have on eof the "oranges" Orange crush I think it was that was nice. I only have about 6 or 7 varieties these days my dad had 300+ ...... he was a bit of a fanatic where Fuchsia's were concerned

I bet they looked great when they were all in flower!
I suppose I have around 20 different ones!
6 cuttings = 6 plants = 1 x 12" basket which lasts all Summer then you can take more cuttings for the following Summer! How good is that!
