  • I've got foxgloves!

Never grown them before - planted the seeds (kindly donated by Hazel at the Hill) early last year and planted them out in late spring. They never flowered but put on a fair bit of growth - or so I thought!!

This year they're about 5ft high, and one of them has some pink blooms starting to show. How exciting!

Just need some low level plants now for some ground cover. I've Carnations, Nastrtiums and some others nearly ready - all grown from seed.

Ok, just tried uploading to Photobucket - failed, tried attaching them, but the failure of Photobucket meant that I had to shut down IE. Annnnywaaaay...

The attached photos should give you an idea of height - against a 6ft fence.

I also couldn't resist taking a quick couple of snaps of my tulips which I love, and the lavender is bloomin' marvellous.

It was all grass last year.

Foxgloves are biennials Wayne, so they flower in their second year. Now that you have them you will have them forever more - they seed all over the place. But they are lovely.

I have them all over (I transplant the ones that end up in the veg garden!) Some are deep purple with white splashes inside, some white with purple splashes, some pure white - I love the variety - and the height in the borders. I wouldn't be without them!

I love foxgloves too, they are so pretty. Don't forget they are poisonous though ( for when the little Lad starts investigating the garden!).
Love the colour of your tulips Wayne, what are they?

I let mine self-seed every year. Every year I viciously pull up the pink ones (hate pink) and leave the pale ones.
This year, I was very confident of getting 95% white ... and they are all pink so far
